ROBEL pioneers
on track
In the early 1900s, Karl Langkammerer acquired the “Georg Robel File Factory” in Munich and began developing hand-operated track construction machines. His vision: to improve safety and precision on the rail. Over the years, the ROBEL name became synonymous with secure, reliable track fastening.
The company grew rapidly during the post-war boom, expanding into powered track vehicles and rail loading systems, with global operations beginning soon after. In 1989, ROBEL moved its headquarters to the railway town of Freilassing, Germany, where innovation continues today. In 2019, ROBEL extended its reach to the United States—bringing decades of expertise and a new level of capability to the North American rail market.
