ROBEL

Great On Track

Since 1901 ROBEL has developed, manufactured and supplied track construction machines with a claim for safety and economic efficiency. This is the incentive for around 570 employees at the ROBEL premises in Freilassing, Germany, to create powerful machines and systems and deliver good service. For the construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure systems all over the world. ROBEL entered the American market in 2019, with significant investment demonstrating the company’s strong commitment to contribute to America’s rail infrastructure.

Strong client cooperation.
Only those who listen will find out about the requirements of worksite operations. With an international network of representations and service partners ROBEL is at the heart of local markets. As a result, we develop safe, high-quality and user-friendly products. Today and tomorrow.

Powerful machines.
Knowledge paves the way to innovation. ROBEL utilizes its experience and ingenuity to convert new technologies - also from other areas - into needs-oriented solutions for track construction. Tested on the in-house track, certified in the area of use.

Good service.
Professional customer service keeps machines operational where results are key. The client decides how close the cooperation with ROBEL is. ROBEL delivers reliably and on time. From the spare part supply through to all-round service.

Where we come from

ROBEL pioneers on track

The 20th century is still in its infancy when Karl Langkammerer takes over the “Georg Robel File Factory” in Munich and starts to manufacture hand-operated track construction machines.

His success encourages him in his vision for track construction: Over the decades, “to robel” becomes synonymous with the secure screw connection between track and sleeper.

The economic boom of the 1950s brings about a considerable change in size: Driven by the idea to optimise work on the track, ROBEL builds track vehicles, followed by rail loading trains a bit later and sets initial steps beyond the country borders.

In 1989 the company premises in Munich literally reaches its limits - ROBEL starts to gradually move all its company divisions to the railway town of Freilassing. Ever since, ROBEL Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH has been delivering rail construction machines all over the world and, as the newest development, started business in America in June 2019.
